What is The Turing Scheme?

The foundation that underpins the international opportunities that we plan to offer to our members is funding from the Turing Scheme. This is the UK’s programme for studying, working & living abroad, offering opportunities for personal and professional student development to bridge the gap between education and work. More info here.

01

Our team are now entering the 4th year of the Turing Scheme.

02

Funding is generously offered to all students on eligible UK FE courses.

What do the international placements look like?

Types of Work Placements:

Short internships and  longer apprenticeships.

1-3 month internships in education settings across Thailand, Vietnam, Bali, China. These are junior roles, where everything is arranged for the learner and our network partner’s coordinators provide constant support.

We also offer 6-12 month apprenticeship roles. As part of this learners will be guided through an Ofqual L3-5 TEFL course. These take place in Thailand. Apprentices will join in groups of 20-30 adults for these opportunities.

Destinations

Our placement provision partner’s expertise lies in Europe and Asia. Their 20-person coordinator team work across a network of over 100 partners.

Our founding team setup this project while studying Chinese together at Oxford -we then ran projects there for a decade! Projects in China can be extremely rewarding but owing to various hurdles are rarely available with UK organisations, we are proud of our uniqueness in offering coverage for projects in China!
