Who We Are

TEFL Society is a non-profit membership organisation for independent learning providers.

Our goal is to break pathways into education careers for UK FE adult learners, we do this by arranging funding and overseeing global placements for our partners.

We are Turing Scheme experts for overseas education placements. We have hosted 2000+ UK students on Turing Scheme projects since 2021 and hope to open 2000 further spaces in 2024.

Our bid-writers have a 100% success rate in obtaining funding. We are welcoming new partners for the upcoming Turing Scheme round.

What We Do

Programme types

Types of Work Placements:

  • Internships and Apprenticeships
  • We offer 1-3 month internship roles in education settings across Thailand, Vietnam, Bali, China. These are junior roles, where everything is arranged for the learner and our coordinators provide constant support
  • We also offer 6-12 month apprenticeship roles. These are backed up by our highest teacher training course (Trinity CertTESOL) and take place in Thailand only. Apprentices will join in groups of 20-30 adults for these oportunities

Destinations

  • Our expertise lies in Asia. We have a 15 person coordinator team working across a network of over 100 partners.
  • Our founding team began running this project while studying Chinese at Oxford University, so they have a particular China focus!

How can we help?

  • Our expert partner, Gotoco, will manage travel and projects (including insurance, flights, placement support and more)

What is Turing?

  • We are entering our 4th year accessing funds for student travel.
  • These funds are offered to any student on UK gov funded courses in FE sector.

  • You get org’ support budget and a reward for your learners
  • We can enrol learners with you, and vice versa. If you don’t refer learners, we reserve right to enrol learners on your courses
